Dr. Cordes was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA.
A 1988 graduate of Ursinus College, Dr. Cordes earned his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine (now Des Moines University) in Des Moines, Iowa in 1992.
After a one-year internship in Erie, PA, Dr. Cordes completed his pediatric residency at Geisinger Medical
Center in Danville, PA. Following his residency, “Dr. Rob” worked in the Geisinger system in Wilkes-Barre for five years before joining Children’s Clinic in 2002.
Having special interests in vaccines, childhood nutrition, and safety, Dr. Rob has led seminars on these topics and was awarded the 2011 Immunization Champion award by the PA Immunization Coalition.
He is a board certified in pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Outside the office Dr Rob and his wife Deb along with their Australian Shepherd dog “Balto” are volunteers with the Therapy Dog program.
Balto also makes Therapy Dog visits to Children’s Clinic of Wyomissing and enjoys dog agility.
He is the father of two adult sons and a proud Air Force dad.
